Maharashtra and Jharkhand election dates announced, results will come together; By-elections on 49 seats also

The dates for Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections have been announced. Voting will be held in Maharashtra in a single phase on November 20. Voting will take place in two phases in Jharkhand. The first round of voting in Jharkhand will be held on November 13, while the second phase of voting will be held on the 20th. Voting is to be held in Maharashtra also on the same day. The election results of both the states will be declared simultaneously on November 23. Many districts of Jharkhand are Naxal affected and there are security concerns. Due to this, a decision has been taken to conduct voting in two rounds. Still, this is a big decision because in 2019, voting was conducted here in 5 phases. Along with these two states, by-elections will also be held on Wayanad Lok Sabha seat and several assembly seats on November 13. Wayanad seat has become vacant due to the resignation of Rahul Gandhi.

Lok Sabha by-election is to be held on Nanded seat in Maharashtra also. For this also voting will be held simultaneously on 20th November. Talking about Uttar Pradesh, by-elections will be held on only 9 assembly seats instead of 10. There will be no by-election on Milkipur seat of Ayodhya in UP. Voting will be held on all 9 seats on 13th November and the results will be declared simultaneously on 23rd November. Voting will be held on a total of 47 assembly seats on November 13. It has been decided to hold by-election on Kedarnath assembly seat of Uttarakhand on November 20. It is being said that an application regarding Milkipur assembly elections is in the court. Therefore elections have not been announced there.

What is the majority figure in Maharashtra and Jharkhand?

Maharashtra has a total of 288 assembly seats and the majority figure is 145, while Jharkhand has 81 seats and the majority figure is 42. The tenure of the current assembly in Maharashtra is ending on 26th November. A new government should be formed in Jharkhand by January 5. The Election Commission has decided to hold elections in November keeping in mind the tenure of the Maharashtra Assembly.

Number of women voters is more than men in Jharkhand

The Election Commissioner said that we will encourage people in tribal areas and slums in cities to come out to vote as much as possible. We had made such an effort in Bastar during the Lok Sabha elections and got good results. Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar said that there are a total of 2.6 crore voters in Jharkhand, of which 1.6 crore are women, while more than 1.3 crore are male voters. In this way, the number of women voters in Jharkhand is more than that of male voters.

More than one lakh polling booths will be built in Maharashtra

A total of 1 lakh 186 polling booths will be built in Maharashtra. Separate booths will also be made for women. Apart from this, seating arrangements will also be made at the booths for elderly and women voters to rest while waiting. Candidates with criminal tendencies will have to give information about themselves to the media three times. Apart from this, the parties will also have to explain why they are being given tickets.

Election Commission said – Money and muscle power will be controlled in elections

The Election Commissioner said that the focus will be on fair elections in every way. Any kind of temptation will be monitored. Money and muscle power will be controlled. Apart from this, efforts will also be made to stop drugs etc. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that we have decided that no voter should have to travel more than 2 kilometers for voting. Strict vigil will also be maintained on the borders of Maharashtra and Jharkhand to prevent smuggling of cash, drugs etc. from other states.
