The Election Commission has announced the dates of Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections. Along with this, by-election dates have also been announced for 47 assembly seats of 15 states and Wayanad Lok Sabha seat of Kerala. According to the Commission, voting for Wayanad Lok Sabha seat will be held on November 13, while its results will be declared on November 23. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced this at a press conference in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Let us tell you that after the resignation of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi from Wayanad, by-elections are being held there. Rahul Gandhi had also won from Wayanad in Kerala and his ancestral seat Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh in the last Lok Sabha elections. That’s why he left the Wayanad seat. Now his sister and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi will contest elections from Wayanad.
By-elections will be held on November 20 for Nanded Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra. Assembly elections will also be held on all 288 seats in the state on the same day. The Election Commission has not announced by-election for Milkipur assembly seat of Uttar Pradesh.
