For the Haryana Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday released a list of 32 candidates in two lists. In this list, AAP has fielded former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestler Kavita Dalal from the Julana Assembly seat of Jind district. She will face Olympic wrestler and Congress candidate Vinesh Phogat. Ever since the Congress has made Vinesh Phogat its candidate from Julana, this seat has become a topic of discussion.
On the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Captain Yogesh Bairagi from Julana assembly constituency. 35-year-old Yogesh Bairagi has been a senior pilot in a major airlines.
Who is Kavita Dalal?
AAP candidate Kavita Dalal is also known as Lady Khali. She started her political career with Aam Aadmi Party in the year 2022 itself. She is a resident of Malvi village of Julana assembly constituency. Kavita had supported the movement of Vinesh Phogat and other female wrestlers at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, but the same Kavita will now face Vinesh in the electoral arena.

Kavita, who has received the ‘First Lady’ award, is India’s first female wrestler in WWE. She has participated in WWE from 2017 to 2021. Kavita Dalal won the gold medal in weightlifting in the 12th Asian Games. After this, she came into professional wrestling by joining The Great Khali’s Continental Wrestling Entertainment. Here she fought in the ring wearing salwar kurti. This gave her a lot of headlines. Kavita is the daughter-in-law of Bijwada village in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh.
