NT Rama Rao was born on 28 May 1923 in Nimakuru, Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. Rao’s father had an ordinary farmer. Rama Rao, as a hero, worked in his first film Palleturi Puppy (1950). Rama Rao, who was a hit from the first film, earned his name in brilliant films like Shokar (1950), Patta Bhairavi (1951), Malliswari (1951) and Chandraharam (1953).

Rama Rao earned a lot of name with his strong acting in the Telugu film world. Rama Rao played a mythical role as Lord Krishna for the first time in Mayabazar (1957) and put most of the characters on screen for the first time in ‘Ramayana’ and ‘Mahabharatam’. Actor Rama Rao, who worked in more than 254 films in his career, became a superstar of South Cinema in the 80s.
