Mumbai. Famous Bollywood actresses of the 70s, Asha Parekh, Waheeda Rehman and Helen are enjoying their holidays in Kashmir these days. All three are very old and best friends. They often go on vacations together and have a lot of fun. All three actresses remembered their old days. Recently, one of their pictures went viral on social media, in which all three actresses are riding a houseboat ‘Shikara’ in Dal Lake. In their time, they used to shoot films on the lush green fields and lake of Kashmir.
Having breakfast on the lawn of The Lalita Grand Palace hotel overlooking the Dal Lake in Srinagar, three famous personalities of Indian cinema relive their past. For Asha Parekh, apart from hill stations like Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonmarg, the lake is a reminder of ‘light, camera and action’. One of her biggest hits, Dil Deke Dekho, was shot in Kashmir in 1959. In fact, her romantic relationship with Dil Deke Dekho director Nasir Hussain is due to her long association with Kashmir.

The small Chinar trees on both sides of the road where the famous song ‘Pukarta Chala Hoon Main’ from the movie ‘Mere Sanam’ was filmed have grown tall after so many years. In this way, for Asha Parekh, this vacation is like enjoying her old life again.
Waheeda Rehman stayed in the same 5 star hotel where she is staying in Srinagar these days for Yash Chopra’s ‘Kabhi Kabhi’, which was filmed in Kashmir in 1976. Kashmir is a memorable place for Helen, who has worked as a supporting actress in more than a thousand films. She shot ‘Junglee’ in 1961, ‘Das Lakh’ in 1966, ‘Karavan’ in 1971 and many other films here.
