Aamir Khan’s police character
Aamir Khan’s role as ACP Ajay Singh Rathore is the best part of the film. His serious and intense acting as an honest police officer is really fantastic. Aamir Khan has done such a great job that it is difficult to forget his acting.

love story
In many police films based on serious subjects like terrorism and trafficking, the love story often feels like it is just there to fill the space or was added as an afterthought. But this is not the case in ‘Sarfarosh’. In the film, the romance between Aamir Khan and Sonali Bendre was not sidelined like many other films of the 90s. Instead, it was well done and served as a nice touch amidst the intense police investigation and action.
Cast and their performance
The film had a unique cast, but every actor did an amazing job. Aamir Khan’s acting was really amazing and it showed his talent. ‘Sarfarosh’ changed our perception of him as an actor, showcasing his versatility brilliantly. Sonali Bendre had done the role of Seema absolutely perfect, and it is a big statement to say that Naseeruddin Shah’s Gulfam Hassan is also one of his favorite characters. Mukesh Rishi’s acting in the film was also good and surprised everyone. Because he was mostly known for negative characters, but in this his character was different. The team of actors like Akash Khurana, Vallabh Vyas, Akhilendra Mishra, Pradeep Rawat, Salim Shah and Rajesh Joshi may not have been big names, but each one of them had done memorable acting at their own level.
music
The film gave us one of the most famous love songs of that generation with Jagjit Singh’s ‘Hoshwalon Ko Khabar Kya’. Even though it is the most famous song of the film, music director duo Jatin-Lalit gave us a very versatile album in the form of ‘Sarfarosh’ with songs like ‘Jo Haal Dil Ka’, ‘Iss Deewane Boye Ko’ and ‘Main Teri Dulhan Ban’. Songs like ‘Jaoon’ made the soundtrack of the film very colourful.
Simplicity and emotional connection
‘Sarfarosh’ had shown serious issues like cross-border terrorism and smuggling in a very realistic and real manner, but despite all this it never felt like a documentary. There is a very beautiful balance of realism and simplicity in the film, which makes the content not easy to understand and like, but full of fun. The film made the story crisp by adding emotions where needed and a realistic touch with simplicity where needed.
