Kathmandu’s mayor Balen Shah made a post on social media about ‘Adipurush’. Ever since this film made on Ramayana was released, there was protest in Nepal as well. Here there has been a ruckus on the facts of Sita ji’s birth. In such a situation, there were reports of banning the screening of ‘Adipurush’ in Nepal. Now the Kathmandu Municipal Corporation has decided that they will not run any English film, not only ‘Adipurush’.
Why did Adipurush protest in Nepal?
Kathmandu Ban Adipurush: Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah had tweeted that he will not run the film until the makers of ‘Adipurush’ correct the fact of Sita’s birth. In fact, the Government of Nepal says that Sita ji was born in Janakpur, the Terai region of Nepal. Whereas in India it is believed that Sita was born in Sitamarhi. There has always been a dispute between the two countries regarding this subject.
Kathmandu banned Indian films
The surprising thing is that there has been talk of banning Indian films in Kathmandu. Let me tell you, Indian films have been getting a lot of love in Nepal since the beginning. There, there has been a lot of craze for Indian artists as well. In such a situation, 17 film halls of Kathmandu have refused to screen Indian films.
