Ajit Kumar and Nandamuri Balakrishna honored with Padma Bhushan

Along with South superstar Ajit Kumar and Nandamuri Balakrishna, seven celebrities have been awarded the Padma Bhushan award. Famous singer Pankaj Udhas and late Sharda Sinha have also been awarded Padma Bhushan. The Government of India has announced the names of some eminent personalities for the Padma Award 2025, the country’s highest civilian honour, on Saturday, January 25, the eve of Republic Day. Apart from Ajit Kumar, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Sharda Sinha’s name has also been included in this list. 19 personalities including Pankaj Udhas and Sushil Modi have been awarded Padma Bhushan. Apart from these, 113 celebrities will be honored with Padma Shri this time.

Ajit Kumar, Nandamuri Balakrishna will get Padma Bhushan

Veteran actors of South Film Industry, Nandamuri Balakrishna and Ajit Kumar have been announced to be honored with Padma Bhushan for their contribution in the art category. Anant Nag, Jatin Goswami, late singer Pankaj Udhas, Shekhar Kapur and Shobhana Chandrakumar will be honored with Padma Bhushan Awards. Famous singer Arijit Singh’s name is also included in this list. A total of 139 personalities have been awarded Padma Awards this year, out of which seven have been awarded Padma Vibhushan, 19 people have been awarded Padma Bhushan and 113 people have been awarded Padma Shri. Apart from this, India’s violinist Lakshminarayan Subramaniam and Kathak dancer and choreographer Kumudani Laxmikant Lakhia will also be honoured.
