Abhishek Anil Kapoor and Sandeep Kewlani’s action drama film Sky Force was released in theaters yesterday in the first week of Republic Day. According to Sacknilk, the film starring Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahriya, Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur has earned more than ₹11 crore in India on its first day. According to the report of Secnilk website, Sky Force earned approximately Rs 11.63 crore in India on its opening day. The 2D version of the film had an occupancy of 10.26% for the morning show, 14.12% for the afternoon show and 22.76% for the evening show. The total share of IMAX 2D versions was 14.82%.

Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under Maddock Films and Jyoti Deshpande under Jio Studios, Sky Force is based on India’s attack on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase in the 1965 India-Pakistan air war. The film was officially announced in 2023 and shooting began. Talking about the film, Veer Pahadia who made his debut with it said, ‘I think it is a very personal story. This is a very human story. And it’s about family. It’s about brotherhood. It’s about friendship and loyalty. So, I urge everyone to watch this film to learn something new.

Referring to his role based on late Squadron Leader Ajjamada Boppaya Devaiah, Akshay talked about doing patriotic films and said, ‘I am very fortunate that I got the opportunity to play so many characters. God has been so kind, I got a chance to play the role of Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva… what more can I ask for? If I am getting such a good opportunity, do you think I should give it up because some people say, ‘Why do you do a patriotic film?’ Why not do it?
