‘IC 814 The Kandahar Hijack’ has been surrounded by controversies since its release. Actually, ‘IC 814 The Kandahar Hijack’ director Anubhav Sinha has changed the names of the terrorists in the web series based on the real incident to non-Muslim names. In such a situation, people are criticizing him and demanding a ban on this series. Meanwhile, Captain Devi Sharan, whose character is played by Vijay Verma, has pointed out two more mistakes of the makers.
First mistake
Devi Sharan told The Telegraph in an interview that apart from the names of the terrorists, the makers have changed two more incidents in the series. He said, “It is shown in the series that the Foreign Minister is saluting us, but he did not salute. He just appreciated our efforts with a gesture.”
Second mistake
Devi further said, “I did not repair the pipeline myself. They (Taliban officials) sent an employee. I took that employee with me in the hold of the plane because he did not know where the lines were, but it was shown in the series that I repaired the pipeline myself.”
The passenger’s calls came after the Netflix series
Four to five passengers on the hijacked flight were in touch with Devi Sharan till 5 years ago. He told that after the series came out, when his name was announced in the flight, some passengers recognized him. At the same time, acquaintances are calling him and congratulating him.
