Murad, who acted in more than 100 films, gained fame from Mukherjee directed by Mukherjee.
When Rishikesh Mukherjee got angry
In an interview to ANI, the 74 -year -old actor narrated an anecdote, in which Mukherjee was disappointed by the actors focusing on phone calls during shooting and took strict steps to focus. The incident took place during the shooting of the song ‘Suni Re Sejaria’, in which Jayashree T and Habiba Rahman worked.
Rajesh Khanna left the shooting and went to attend the phone
He said- ‘A Mujra was getting picture on Jayashree Tea and Habiba Rahman, Suni Re Sajaria. I was in that studio and the office was quite far away, the distance was enough. So he put a combined shot. He called Pintu, call Pintu (Rishikesh Mukherjee used to call Rajesh Khanna with love to Pintu.) He went to attend the phone. There was no extension, so you had to go away. ‘ Director Rishikesh Mukherjee got angry with this actor’s behavior, as this caused heavy losses to the producer. He then called Amitabh Bachchan, but he was also busy on phone calls, due to which the filmmakers were enraged.
Amitabh Bachchan was also busy in call
‘Do you go to call Pintu, how much loss of producer. 4000 rupees 1 is damaged in a minute. Sit now Call Omitabh (Amitabh Bachchan). Sir, he has also received a call. Both were called, seated and took class. Both of you have come to work here. The director then reprimanded the two actors for attending phone calls during the shooting and instructed them not to leave the set of the film until the shooting of the song ‘Suni Ray Sejaria’.
Amitabh Bachchan-Rajesh Khanna closed on set
He said- ‘Until the song is over yet, no one will go out of the set. Called the watchman, locked inside. Till 12.30 pm, until the song is over, no one will come out from inside nor will anyone go out of the set. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna and Raza Murad in Namak Haram, Rekha, Asrani, AK Hangal, Simi Garewal and Om Shivpuri were also in important roles. The film was the second film between Bachchan, Khanna and Mukherjee after the 1971 classic film Anand.
