New Delhi: Jitendra’s film ‘Parichay’ released in 1972 holds a special place in his career. This is a clean type of film, which gave Jitendra a new image. Jaya Bhaduri (Jaya Bachchan) also has a special role in the film directed by Gulzar, while Sanjeev Kumar and Vinod Khanna are in supporting roles. A song from the film is very famous even today, but when Jitendra heard it for the first time, he did not like it at all.
Jeetendra wanted the song to be removed from the film or replaced with another song. If this had happened, Gulzar would have left the film. On the day this song of the film ‘Parichay’ was being filmed, Amitabh Bachchan had reached the set to meet his wife Jaya Bachchan.

It is said that Jitendra took Amitabh to his car and played this song in the cassette player, after hearing which tears started flowing from Big B’s eyes. The song became very popular. This unique song written by Gulzar was beautifully composed by RD Burman. It was sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Bhupinder Singh. The song was filmed on Jaya Bhaduri and Sanjeev Kumar.

Lata Mangeshkar was honored with the National Award for Best Female Playback Singer for the song ‘Beete Na Bachaye Raina’. The audience liked all the songs of the film, apart from ‘Beete Na Bachaye Raina’, ‘Musafir Hoon Yaaro’ is still listened to a lot by the people. All the songs of the film were composed by RD Burman and written by Gulzar.
