In an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Soma Rathod writes, ‘My struggle days were very difficult. When I used to leave the house, I used to have 100 rupees. Now with that money she could either eat or travel. I usually took a local train from Borivali to Andheri, spent Rs 3 on lemonade, drank it and wandered all over Andheri for photoshoots, auditions and meetings. Then around 7-8 pm, she used to drink lemonade worth Rs 3 from Andheri station and used to eat food when she reached home in the night.

Soma told that at first she had to face body shaming. Soma said, ‘Often people used to tell me that they are looking for someone who is slim and I am very fat. I was told that I am not fat enough to be fit for his role. So I was neither thin nor I was fat.
