New Delhi. Bollywood actor Anupam Kher on Wednesday performed Shradh for Kashmiri Pandits killed in the 1990 Valley genocide. The actor performed ‘Tripindi Shradh’ for the peace of the departed souls. The rituals were performed amidst chanting of mantras. The event was organized by Brahma Sena and was held at Pich Mochan Teerth in Kashi. Anupam Kher has raised the issue of Kashmiri Pandits many times. His performance in the recent film ‘The Kashmir Files’ earned him critical acclaim.
Giving information about this, Dr. Santosh Ojha, the founder of the Aang Sanstha, said that since the 1990s, the period of genocide of Hindus and especially Kashmiri Pandits had started in Kashmir. Year after year hundreds of people were put to death in this massacre. Not only this, lakhs of Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave their ancestors’ properties worth crores of rupees and were forced to live in refugee camps. In such a situation, for the peace of the unsatisfied souls who were victims of premature death, this special ritual has been organized by the social organization Advent and Brahma Sena.
