Diljit Dosanjh’s concert is in news these days due to liquor controversies. Following the notice from the Telangana government, the Excise Department of Maharashtra has now canceled the permit to serve liquor at the concert of actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh in Kothrud area of Pune on Sunday. Before the concert, Maharashtra Excise Department surprised everyone by issuing its new order. The department has canceled the permit following protests from several sources, including Chandrakant Patil, the recently elected BJP MLA from Kothrud, over the incident of serving liquor at the event.
Maharashtra government opposes Diljit’s concert
The department canceled the permit after several people, including newly elected Kothrud MLA Chandrakant Patil, raised objections, PTI reported. Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati Tour is in the headlines for this reason. Not only this, many newly elected leaders of BJP and NCP have also opposed the show being held in Kothrud area of Pune. MLA Patil objected to the evening program at Kakade Farm in Kothrud. He said, ‘Such programs are not part of the city’s culture. This will cause major problems for the residents of the area. This program will also cause traffic jams. Therefore, I have requested the city police commissioner to cancel the program. The question is, will this concert happen?
Diljit got notice before the concert in Hyderabad
Diljit Dosanjh who is currently touring India for his Dil-Luminati Tour. He had received a notice from the Telangana government before his concert to be held in Hyderabad on Friday 15 November. The notice asked the Punjabi singer not to sing songs promoting drugs, alcohol or violence. This direction has been given following the representation of Panditrao Dharanwar of Chandigarh, who presented as evidence a recent video of Diljit singing songs promoting drugs, alcohol and violence. The notice also warned him not to use these songs during his show.
