Bobby Deol was afraid that Sandeep Reddy Vanga might remove him from Animal, told why he did not celebrate the success

Bobby Deol appeared in the movie Animal for a short while but his role was very strong. This movie proved to be a game changer for him. Bobby Deol got this role and after that his turn to shoot did not come for a long time. Meanwhile, Bobby Deol was afraid that Sandeep Reddy Vanga might change his mind.

Sandeep’s message was not trusted

In a conversation with Humans of Bombay, Bobby Deol told how Sandeep Reddy Vanga gave him this role. He says, ‘I got a message from him. He introduced himself and told me that he wanted to meet me in connection with a film. I thought, is it really him? I called and arranged a meeting. He showed me a photo of mine in which I had participated in the Celebrity Cricket League and said, I want to cast you because I liked this expression of yours.’

There was hesitation in the beginning

Bobby said that initially he was hesitant to play a mute character. He said, ‘I wanted something that was out of my comfort zone. When Sandeep said that my character would be mute, I felt that my voice is my strength but still I decided to do it.’

Negative thoughts were coming in my mind

Bobby told that it took a long time for his part to be shot in the film. Meanwhile, he was also feeling insecure. He said, I waited for 1.5 years to shoot the film. The film was 3.5 hours long, so Ranbir’s part was being shot for a long time. During this period, I kept thinking, what if they change their mind. What if they suddenly say that I am not needed. These thoughts used to come to my mind but Sandeep is very nice. The film became so successful, although I never thought that it would become a cult hit, but it felt like that from within. Bobby also told that even after the film became a blockbuster, he could not celebrate its success because his mother-in-law had passed away.
