The Indian hockey team made it to the Paris Olympics hockey semi-finals by defeating Great Britain 4-2 in the shootout. The score of both was equal at 1-1 till full time, but PR Sreejesh did wonders in the shootout. Sreejesh, playing his last tournament, rocked the quarter-final match. India has entered the semi-finals of hockey in the Olympics for the second consecutive time. Bollywood stars are also celebrating the victory of the Indian hockey team. Indian hockey team made it to the semi-finals
Both India and Great Britain have performed brilliantly in the first quarter. They will face Germany or Argentina in the semi-finals. In the shootout, captain Harmanpreet Singh, Sukhjeet Singh, Lalit Upadhyay and Rajkumar Pal scored goals for India while Great Britain’s Connor Williamson missed the target and Philip Roper’s shot was saved by Sreejesh. After the match remained tied at 1-1 till the stipulated time, a penalty shootout took place.
