Kader Khan’s family came to India when he was only six months old. He was brought up in Bombay. Despite difficult circumstances, he became a professor of civil engineering at MH Sabu Siddiq College of Engineering, Mumbai. However, his real passion was the stage. He started showing interest in theater from an early age.
Kader Khan used to go to Jewish cemeteries early in his career to practice his dialogue lines, where there was no one to listen to him. One day Khan found someone watching him in the graveyard. It was Ashraf Khan who offered Kader Khan a role at the same time.
This story of his life is very interesting. Kader Khan used to go to the graveyard during the night in his childhood. Kader Khan used to do Riyaz by going to the graveyard near his house in Mumbai. One day Kader Khan’s riyaz was going on when the light of the torch fell on his face. The man who lit the torch asked Kader Khan what are you doing here? Kader Khan replied directly, “I am doing Riyaz. Whatever good I study during the day, I come here at night to do Riyaz.” Ashraf Khan was the person who questioned Kader Khan. Ashraf Khan was impressed by Kader Khan and asked him. “Why don’t you work in drama, will you work? And thus Kader Khan’s journey of acting in drama began.
When Kader Khan wrote Muqaddar Ka Sikandar in 1977, there is an important scene in it. When the child goes to the cemetery and cries. There he meets a fakir. Kader Khan took this scene from his real life. He himself disclosed this in an interview.

Kader Saheb, who stepped on the screen with the film ‘Daag’, acted in more than 300 films. Apart from this, he has also been a dialogue writer for 1000 Hindi and Urdu films. He has done maximum number of films in Hindi cinema with actor Govinda director David Dhawan. Sometimes he tickled the audience with comedy and sometimes scared people by becoming a villain. Kader Khan used to get into whatever role he played.
Seeing the tears in his eyes on the screen, the audience cried, his comedy made the cinema hall laugh with laughter, listening to the dialogues he wrote, there was applause. He did not know how many actors he made the king of cinema, but in the last days of his life there was no one to take care of him. In the last days, Kader Khan also had a lot of difficulty in walking and speaking. He died in Toronto, Canada on December 31, 2018 at the age of 81.
