New Delhi. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held a special meeting with directors, producers and actors of Tollywood film industry on December 26 at the Telangana State Police Command and Control Center in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. The main objective of this meeting was to discuss the case of stampede in Sandhya theatre. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy clearly said that law and order is paramount in the state and there will be no compromise in it. He directed Tollywood actors and producers to take concrete steps to prevent such incidents in future. He also said that it is the moral responsibility of the stars to control the fans and the industry will have to run a strong publicity campaign against drugs.
Presence of Tollywood stars and producers in the meeting
Veteran producers, directors and actors of Tollywood were present in this important meeting. Filmmakers Suresh Babu, KL Narayan, Damodhar, BVSN Prasad, Chinna Babu, Sudhakar Reddy along with directors Koratala Siva, Anil Ravipudi and Prashant Varma were part of the meeting. Also present were big names like actors Nagarjuna, Varun Tej, Sai Dharam Tej, Kalyan Ram, Advi Shesh, Nithin and Shiv Balaji. Telangana Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju was leading the delegation.
Sandhya theater stampede case raises concerns
The meeting was held after the stampede incident at Sandhya theater during the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2’. Many Tollywood biggies including Allu Arjun met the Chief Minister regarding this controversial matter. It was discussed in the meeting that benefit shows will not be allowed in future and strictness will also be taken in the appointment of bouncers.
Emphasis on hosting International Film Festival
CM Revanth Reddy suggested that an International Film Festival should be organized like during the tenure of former Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu. Tollywood representatives agreed to this but also said that the first day shows and benefit shows are the most profitable for the film.
