Jitendra’s childhood
Jitendra spent 18 years of his life in Mumbai’s Chawl and had to make a lot of papad for his first film. Annu Kapoor narrated an anecdote related to Jitendra in his show ‘Suhana Safar’. Talking about Jitendra, he had said that Jitendra’s father and Uncle used to supply jewelery in films. Jitendra was very young when he suffered a heart attack. With great difficulty, Jitendra cleared his screen test and got his first film of his career. Jitendra’s first film was ‘Geet Gaia Patthar Ne’, which was released in 1964. He was in the lead role in this film.
Salary decreased as soon as he becomes a hero
Jitendra’s first film of his career was started, but with this his salary decreased. Before getting the film, he was earning Rs 150 a month, but his money was reduced when he became a hero. His salary was reduced from Rs 150 to Rs 100. They were told that because they have been given a break, their salary has been reduced.
