New Delhi. Kishore Kumar’s film journey is no less than a film story. Kishore is one of the most talented artists of Bollywood. Kishore was as good a singer as he was an actor. Kishore sang 16 thousand film songs and was awarded the Filmfare Award 8 times.
Kishore Kumar himself once said that he felt uncomfortable with one habit of Lata Mangeshkar and this habit was the discipline of Swar Kokila. Kishore Kumar himself shared an anecdote. He said, I was surprised when Lata agreed to do a stage show with me in London. I was thrilled, but I was worried about one thing – her discipline.

Kishore Kumar was scared before going on stage
While sharing his thoughts, Kishore Kumar had said, she never used to go on stage without rehearsal and I used to take things very normally. We had to sing five duet songs on stage. The biggest problem came when the time came to go on stage. We were not able to decide who would go first? I suggested that Lata sing first because she is my senior. But she did not do so. Instead she went on stage to introduce me. She praised me a lot. But she also said, ‘I call him Da because he is older than me. I am older than him by one month and 24 days! After this we did three shows.
Lata Mangeshkar had misunderstood Kishore Da
Lata and Kishore sang many matchless songs. There was a different flow in the voices of both. The bonding was good, perhaps this was the reason why Kishore Da gave his last interview to Lata Didi. Lata talked to him as a reporter. In this, she talked on many issues. One of the interesting anecdotes was related to their first meeting. Kishore Da had told how both of them travelled together in a train and a horse carriage. Then both of them reached the same place and that was Bombay Talkies. Lata kept thinking that Kishore Kumar was following her but after some time Khemchand Prakash lifted the curtain. He did a formal introduction and after this both of them laughed a lot.
After the death of her first husband, Leena Chandavarkar made Kishore Kumar her life partner.
Let us tell you that Kishore Da was as cheerful and humorous as he was a man of firm ideals. There was a time (1982-87) when everyone was standing in line behind Amitabh Bachchan but this great singer did not leave Rajesh Khanna. He gave his voice in 91 films of Kaka ji. He created history in Sunil Dutt and Saira Bano’s film Padosan.
