New Delhi. Adah Sharma has been active in Bollywood for the last 15 years. During this period, he also made his mark in the South Film Industry. At the same time, last year he had captured the box office with his film ‘The Kerala Story’. She was also seen in the recently released film ‘Bastar’ and also became popular on OTT through the web series ‘Sunflower’. Let us tell you, Ada made her mark in the industry through her hard work and on her own strength, because she had no connection whatsoever with Bollywood. Today she is known as a successful actress. There itself, AnyTV Hindi In a special conversation with PTI, he openly expressed his opinions ranging from insider-outsider to politics. So come on, let us tell you what Ada Sharma said?
Question: Your film ‘The Kerala Story’ and web series ‘Sunflower’ started trending on OTT with the release. Soon after, your new film ‘Bastar’ was released in theatres. How are you feeling after doing such big projects, one after the other?
Ada Sharma: Actually, as an actress, I think this is a very exciting time for me, because so many things are being released and that too different things. It is not that all are the same, all my characters are different. The most happy thing is that the audience accepted me. ‘In ‘The Kerala Story’ I am a college student and a victim, in ‘Bastar’ I play the role of an IG, while in the web series ‘Sunflower’ I play the role of a bar dancer. So there is some new color in each.
Question: I don’t think the next season of ‘Sunflower’ will happen without you.
Ada Sharma: Of course (laughs…), it will definitely happen and it is very fun too, but I am an artist who does not talk before the project is completed, because I enjoy talking more after the project is completed. Now if you see ‘The Kerala Story’, earlier no one knew that I was working in it and no one even knew about ‘Bastar’ and ‘Sunflower’. I did not talk to anyone about these projects.
Question: Why couldn’t ‘Bastar’ connect with the audience?
Ada Sharma: See, I can say a lot…like the film was banned in many places…not many theaters were found, but I think if a film did not work then it was not its fate, now ‘The Kerala Story’ has made a huge success at the box office. But history has been created, there has been no such female centric film till now. At the same time, ‘Sunflower’ is top trending and is the most watched web series. Therefore, some films work and some do not, however, for ‘Bastar’, I am still getting a lot of appreciation for my role.
Question: There are rumors about you that you left your studies for acting?
Ada Sharma: No, actually that is wrong… I had not left my studies but I had told someone that I had started acting after 12th, but at that time I was pursuing graduation in Kathak. After that I completed Psychology through correspondence. Everyone in my family is very involved in science, my mother has done M.Sc., then my mother’s brother is a scientist, so I studied science at his house. It was not that I left studies and took up acting.
Question: There are discussions every day about insider-outsider in the industry, how do you see it?
answer: I think that instead of answering this question, it would be better for people to get the answer by watching my recently released films, because if I say that then it would probably be lost or diminished. The example is in front of everyone, the films that have been released recently… what did you feel after watching them, who should have been in it and who should not have been there, whatever… I think people will get that answer after watching that film.
Question: Do you want to join politics in future?
Ada Sharma: No, I have never thought of it. Actually, I live in the present, today, now… because when you start planning for the future, you become very sad and no person can plan the future, because planning the future is not in our hands, All that is in the hands of God.
