Please tell that Faisal Farooqui was the spokesperson of Dilip Kumar and he used to give information related to his health to the media. In this book, Faisal Farooqui has mentioned many things related to Dilip Sahab. Like his love for books, his love for literature and poetry, how he came close to becoming the President of India, his love for food and more.
Faisal Farooqui shared an anecdote, “Sahib and I used to go for drives many times and enjoy loker street food like sweets or spicy pani puri. He used to pick me up in his Maroon Mercedes and we used to go to Karachi Mithai, which is located on Hill Road in Bandra. We used to go and park the car near the shop. The shopkeeper used to send pani puri to the best employee of his shop as soon as he saw the car. Sahab never used to get out of his car. He knew that if he came out, his fans would be crowded.
In the year 2004, on a beautiful summer evening, the sahib said that let’s go to the sea and eat water. We went but there was a crowd, to which the sahib said, look, this is my friend and he is hungry, please let us eat. Hearing this, people respected his words and let us eat in peace. We asked for two plates of pani puri and after eating the sahib asked for the bill.
Dilip sahib was terrified after seeing the bill of pani puri: Farooqui said, “The shop owner said that it is our good fortune that you came here, but Dilip sahib was not going to believe so I told the manager to give the bill. But when the bill came and I started giving it, Dilip sahib said that I am big, I will give the bill. As soon as Dilip sahib saw the bill, he was surprised. The bill for one plate of pani puri was Rs 250. Seeing this, the sahib looked at me and said, the price of pani puri is 500 rupees?
