New Delhi: Farah Khan and Sajid Khan’s mother Menaka Irani passed away on 26 July at the age of 79. After the death of her husband Kamran Khan, Menaka raised her children single-handedly. Director-choreographer Farah Khan had years ago credited her mother for her success and pointed out the strength and dedication of her mother Menaka in playing a special role in her life.

Farah Khan has openly expressed her deep love and gratitude towards her mother Menaka Irani. In an interview to NDTV in 2005, she said, “I know I don’t say I love you often. If you weren’t in my life, if you weren’t the kind of person you are, Sajid and I would have been different people. I know the hardships you had to go through to make sure we got the necessary education. That mattered to us.”
