There is an uproar in the whole country regarding the film The Kashmir Files. People’s opinion about the film is divided into two parts. On one hand people say that the film is doing the work of dissolving poison in the society, on the other hand people are also saying that the story of atrocities on Kashmiri Pandits has come to the fore through the film. Meanwhile, when the Congress leader called the film to spread hatred, filmmaker Ashok Pandit got furious.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh wrote on Twitter that “Some films inspire change. Kashmir files incite hatred. Truth can lead to justice, rehabilitation, reconciliation and peace. Propaganda distorts facts, distorts history to incite anger and incite violence. Leaders heal wounds. Preachers take advantage of fear and prejudice to divide and rule.”
Filmmaker Ashok Pandit responded by writing on Twitter, “Jairam ji your comrades have massacred Sikhs, embraced terrorists like Yasin Malik and are now shamelessly giving discourses on hate and love. Get used to hearing the truth. This is the new India.” In another tweet, Ashok Pandit wrote on Twitter that “the perpetrators of the 1984 genocide of Sikhs and imposition of emergency in the country have no right to talk about hatred and peace.” Now people are also giving their feedback on social media.
Vivek Agnihotri, director of The Kashmir Files, while replying to Jairam Ramesh, wrote, “Why don’t we debate this Jairam Ramesh ji. People will also know about you. A film should start conversations and I would be very happy to play the lead.” BJP leader Shefali Vaidya responded by writing that “Basically, whatever exposes the anti-Hindu agenda of the Congress, is hate. Whatever glorifies the minority appeasement policy of the Congress, it is true! Keep moving forward Jairam Ramesh ji, a great way to win the hearts of Hindus!”
Writer Anand Ranganathan responded by writing that “Rajiv Gandhi allowed the perpetrators of the Sikh genocide to escape. You were silent He let the perpetrators of the Bhopal massacre escape. You were silent He let the perpetrators of the Kashmir genocide escape. You were silent You were silent During the three massacres. Today you speak of truth and justice.”
A user named Shraddha Saxena wrote that “Jairam ji please tell why no strict steps were taken to stop the exodus? The film may be a hype but surely also reveals your poor administrative skills. The government was ‘cowardly and shameless’ in not saving its own people.” A user named Durgesh wrote that “Without discussing and accepting the truth, no rehabilitation and reconciliation should be done. The Kashmir Files You have been talking political, talking political and will talking political because you are doing political appeasement. Appeasement is the DNA of your politics.”
