In 2014, Mustafa Burmavala worked as an assistant director in Abbas-Mastan’s ‘Race 2’, the next part of the 2008 thriller film ‘Race’. It starred Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Amisha Patel. After this, Mustafa himself made up his acting and made his debut with the romantic thriller film ‘Machine’ in 2017. Kiara Advani was the lead actress with her in this film. Earn only so many crores
The ‘machine’, built for Rs 30 crore, was a badly flop at the box office as it could earn only 10% of its entire budget, which was able to earn only Rs 3.50 crore. The film also featured Ronit Roy, Sharat Saxena, Johnny Lever and Dalip Tahil in supporting roles. The failure of ‘machine’ impressed Abbas-Mastan so much that he did not make any other film in the last 8 years. The film also had a remix version of Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon’s song ‘Tu Cheesi Badi Hai Mast Mast’. The film shook the horrific results Mustafa Burmawala and decided to quit acting.
