Then Haseen Dillruba came: When the film Haseen Dilruba was released in the year 2021, its content looked different. Many pulp fiction stories have been made in Hindi cinema. Now the story of Haseen Dilruba has come to the fore in Haseen Dilruba. Well, Haseen Dilruba’s Rani (Taapsee Pannu) was a murderer. In the first part, Neel (Harshvardhan Rane) lost his life due to an extramarital affair with Rani. Rani’s husband Rishabh i.e. Rishu (Vikrant Massey) cut off Rani’s hand to save her. Now the story of the sequel moves forward from there.
Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba: What’s new in the story?
Rishu (Vikrant Massey) is now living his life like Ravi. Rani (Taapsee Pannu) has her own salon. Both are hiding from the police in Agra. His life is not easy there either. While Abhimanyu (Sunny Kaushal) is madly in love with Rani. Rishu’s landlady, Poonam (Bhumika Dubey) is desperate to have a physical relationship with him.
Neel’s real uncle and a police officer, Motonje Paswan (Jimmy Shergal), is looking for Rishu. Rani and Rishu are trying to go to Thailand illegally. In the previous film, Rani and Rishu got the idea of killing Neel after reading author Dinesh Pandit’s book Kasoli Ka Kaha. This time they are taking the help of his book Makarch Ka Shankhaja Ka.
I haven’t thought about a sequel
There is a dialogue in the beginning of the film that what is that love which does not cross the limits of madness. Relationships are maintained with senses. When Taapsee speaks these dialogues, it seems that the madness of love will be more than the previous film. However, this does not happen. The screenwriter of the film Kanika Dhillon said that during the first part, the idea of a sequel did not come to her mind.
This is reflected in the story. Because this time the characters of Rani and Rishu are not as sharp as before. There is also a crocodile angle in the story. Which is shown repeatedly in the climax to create excitement. Until it ends that excitement. Considering the dark area of the film, the work of cinematographer Vishal Sinha is excellent.
Steering becomes a headache
Director Jayprad Desai’s control is strong in the first half. But it loosens in the second half. The scenes where the police investigate the incident by watching CCTV footage of the streets, reading Dinesh Pandit’s book and taking out call records seem ridiculous. Many dialogues of Pandit ji like ‘chalan se na chal se, pyar parane ko parkon anek dil ke haale se…’ retain the feel of the original film.
How is the acting of the star cast?
Taapsee Pannu is a good actress. She can fit into any role. However, this time Rani’s style or rather the salt that should have been there in this role was less visible. Vikrant Massey’s magical acting is missed. Because his character is not as strong as in the original film.
Sunny Kaushal will surprise you with his performance. Till now Sunny had not got a chance to play the character of Prath. As soon as he got it, he left no stone unturned. Jimmy Shergill is in his familiar role in a small role. The song Ek Haseena Tha… Ek Deewana Tha… from the 1980 film Kurz makes this scene interesting.
