Police have arrested Bangladeshi national Shariful Islam Shahzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir (30) in connection with the attack on Saif at his Bandra house in the early hours of Thursday. The crime branch and local police had formed several teams to trace the accused, the officer said. The accused was absconding for more than two days. He said that during investigation, the police came to know that the accused was seen outside Dadar Railway Station thrice and he had also gone to Worli Koliwada. The officer said police examined hundreds of CCTV footage and found that the attacker had gone to a labor contractor in the area. He said that the labor contractor gave all the information about the attacker to the police and based on his information, the police traced him to a labor camp located in a forest area in Thane. The officer said that the accused had previously worked in a hotel in Thane and till now he had no criminal record.
