New Delhi. Kavita Kaushik needs no introduction in the world of TV. She ruled the hearts of the audience for years by playing the character of ‘Inspector Chandramukhi Chautala’ in the serial ‘FIR’. Now Kavita Kaushik has distanced herself from the small screen. In a recent interview, the actress has revealed the reason behind leaving TV.

In an interview with Times Now, actress Kavita Kaushik said that she is only being offered the role of a ‘witch’ on the small screen. She says, ‘I don’t want to do TV. I cannot work 30 days a month. I now want to work in movies and web series, but I don’t look like a typical heroine. That’s why it is difficult to cast me in any kind of role.’

I don’t want to do TV
She further says, ‘I am being offered only one type of roles. I keep getting offers of serials based on witches and evil rituals. But now I cannot live the same life as before, like I was doing full time TV till three years ago. At that time I was young and I needed money. Now I cannot give that much time to the shoot. Even when the shooting of FIR used to get prolonged, I used to get upset’.

Told TV as regressive
The actress further says that the content of TV is very old and backward and that is why she wants to stay away from TV. There was a time when there were very different and good shows on TV. In those days, there was variety in the shows and there was entertainment for everyone, but now the kind of content being presented on TV is not at all right for the youth. Let us tell you, Kavita Kaushik was last seen in the Punjabi comedy-drama – ‘Carry On Jatta 3’.
