The actress revealed that she confessed her feelings to Zaheer within a week of meeting him and described it as ‘love at first sight’. Recalling that moment, Sonakshi said, ‘I told Zaheer that I love you within a week.
I am very excited. There was some recognition, there is a click when you know that this is your person and this is your only person. This is what happened to me, and this has never happened to me before. I always took my time, but with him it happened instantly. Sonakshi admitted that she was the first to fall in love. Whereas Zaheer took time in it. He further said, ‘Boys also take some time. Zaheer is one of those boys who takes his time. He was also at a stage where he knew that if I reach it, it will be permanent. So he took his time.
The marriage took place on 23rd June
The wedding was officially held on June 23 in a private ceremony at Sonakshi’s Mumbai residence. Before this, both of them had kept their relationship a secret for many years. The wedding was followed by a star-studded reception which was attended by Bollywood icons like Salman Khan, Huma Qureshi, Rekha and Kajol. Sonakshi and Zaheer’s love story dates back to seven years of dating.
