Abhinav Sinha’s film IC:814 has brought back memories of many painful incidents of the Kandahar hijacking of 1999. 25-year-old businessman Rupin Katyal was murdered in this flight. He was newly married and was returning after celebrating his honeymoon. The Pakistani terrorists who hijacked the plane committed this murder to scare the passengers and put pressure on the Indian government. In the documentary interview made on this gruesome incident, the captive passengers told that after killing Rupin, the terrorist kept telling his wife that he was like an elder brother to them.

She told that Rachna kept crying badly for two days. She was in economy class and her husband was sent to business class. She did not know that the terrorists had killed her husband.
