Flight engineer Anil K Jagia has written in his book that a strange bond had started forming between the terrorists and the passengers in the hijacked plane. The Netflix documentary IC 814 has shown a lot of similarities to the real incident but there are still many stories left. According to the Indian Express report, flight engineer Anil Jagia had written a book in collaboration with Saurabh Shula, a former reporter of this media house. It mentioned many incidents that took place in the hijacked plane for a week. Anil had many conversations with the terrorists.

Anil has written in the book what he had talked to the terrorist named ‘Burger’ (codename) after the talks between the terrorists and the Indian government were over. He had written, ‘As soon as he came to the aisle to give the good news to the passengers, he came to seat number 25B next to me. He said seriously, ‘I am sorry if I have troubled you.’ I said, ‘I hope you will never trouble so many people so much again.’ He said with some remorse, ‘This is what my father used to say.’ I said, ‘Then you have one more reason to never do this again. When you finish all your work, come to me. I have a gift for you.’
Was surprised to see the burger gift
Anil further writes, ‘Burger returned around 3:30 in the afternoon and said respectfully, ‘I am ready to accept your gift.’ I don’t know what he was expecting but he was surprised when I put a red torch in his hand. He asked why a torch? I replied, this will show you the right path. Burger thanked me and took the torch and went away but came back after a while and said that the Chief has not allowed anyone to accept any gift from the hostages.’ Let us tell you that the Captain has told that he told jokes to Burger and at one point in the flight some people started singing songs. Sometimes the terrorists also had to joke so that people do not fall ill out of fear.
