New Delhi. Income Tax Department officials raided the house and office of filmmaker Sukumar in Hyderabad on Wednesday, January 22. The action began in the morning and continued for several hours. According to the information, Sukumar was at Hyderabad airport when the raid was conducted. Income tax officials stopped him at the airport and took him home, after which the investigation began.
Many important documents and evidence are being collected from the house of Sukumar, who is the director of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. It is being told that this raid is part of the investigation into unaccounted income and possible tax evasion.
No statement from officials and Sukumar
The Income Tax Department has not yet given any official statement on the reason behind the raid and what came to light. Nor has there been any reaction from Sukumar on this matter. It is noteworthy that Sukumar was celebrating the success of his recently released film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. The film has grossed over Rs 1500 crore and stars Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles.

Earlier, on Tuesday, January 21, the Income Tax Department had also raided the properties of film producer Dil Raju. Dil Raju, whose real name is Velmakucha Venkata Ramana Reddy, is a well-known producer in Telugu cinema. He is the owner of Sri Venkateswara Creations and has also produced several Tamil and Hindi films.
