New Delhi. The United Kingdom (UK) -based company Carbon International Limited’s authorized major distributor Inter Tech has initiated legal action against the illegal use of Marconite brand in the country. The company has started sending legal notices to firms that are supplying grounding materials and earring electrodes using the Marconite name without permission.
Marconite is a special conductive concrete used in earthing (grounding), and is manufactured only in the United Kingdom. For the last 12 years, Inter Tech has been its major distributor in India and during this time it has acquired a unique identity and customer confidence. The company has said that selling fake products in the name of Marconite not only leads to trademark violations, but it can also severely affect the safety of power systems and increases the risk of life and property.
Inter Tech has clarified that Marconite is a registered trademark (registration number 4454542) and another application (number 1767422) is also in progress. The company has warned that if the concerned firms do not stop using the name Marconite within 10 days and do not give details of sales and profits so far, then civil and criminal action will be taken against them.
Reiterating the reputation of his brand and commitment to protect the consumer trust, Inter Tech has said that he is ready to resort to all legal measures. At the moment, there is no response from the companies and if there is no solution within 10 days, the matter can go to the court.
This step of Inter Tech is a tough message for companies who are illegally using the brand name.
