Bollywood star Akshay Kumar said on Tuesday that the dispute over ‘Hera Pheri 3’ to exclude his co-star Paresh Rawal is a ‘serious case’, which is being ‘dealt with by the court.
About two weeks ago, Rawal’s sudden outdation of the project caused panic among fans of the film industry and franchise, who had been waiting for the third part for nearly 20 years.
Kumar, who is also the creator of “Hera Pheri 3”, has filed a case of compensation of Rs 25 crore on Rawal.
On the occasion of the trailer launch of the upcoming film’s upcoming film “Housefull 5”, he was asked how disappointed the fans are with “Hera Pheri 3” and he called the admirable actor “fool”, to which Kumar said that his “good friend” “is” not “a fool” right “.
He said, “It is a foolish word to use such a word for my co-star or something. I will not appreciate it, and it’s not right. I have worked with him for the last 30-35 years, we are very good friends. He is a great actor and I really praise him.”
Kumar told reporters, “Whatever it is (referring to the dispute), I don’t think I will talk about it here because whatever is to happen is a very serious matter. This is a case that will be dealt with by the court and such things. So, I don’t think I will talk about it here.”
Last week, Rawal broke his silence on the controversy and said that his lawyer has responded to the legal trial.
“Hera Pheri”, directed by Priyadarshan, was released in 2000 and also featured Sunil Shetty and Kumar. It revolves around a strange, kind garage owner Baburao Ganpatrao Apte (Rawal), a clever Awara Raju (Kumar) and a struggling Garib Shyam (Shetty).
The trio again returned in 2006 with the sequel of Hera Pheri, directed by Neeraj Vora. The third part of the film will be directed by Priyadarshan. On May 18, Rawal officially announced that he is no longer a part of “Hera Pheri”.
Rawal had said, “I want to keep it on the record that my decision to separate from ‘Hera Pheri 3’ was not due to creative differences. I repeat that there is no creative disagreement with the filmmaker. I have immense love, respect and faith in Shri Priyadarshan.”
