Artisan Cafe to be part of a film showing terrorist attack in Bangladesh
New Delhi, (IANS). Jahan Kapoor, who belongs to the famous Kapoor family of Bollywood, is all set to debut in Hindi films. Jahan, the grandson of late superstar Shashi Kapoor, will be seen in the film ‘Faraaz’ to be directed by Hansal Mehta. Jahaan is the son of actor Kunal Kapoor and Sheena Sippy, daughter of film producer Ramesh Sippy.
Jointly produced by Anubhav Sinha Productions, Bhushan Kumar, ‘Faraaz’ is an action thriller that depicts the Holy Artisan Cafe terrorist attack that shook Bangladesh in July 2016. The film chronicles the events that took place in Dhaka on the night of July 1, 2016, where five young militants ransacked an expensive cafe and took over 50 people hostage for nearly 12 horrific hours.
Jahan has been an active theater actor and photographer. She made her debut in Prithvi Theater with ‘Pitaji Please’ opposite Makarand Deshpande and Swanand Kirkire. He has staged several performances at the Prithvi Theatre, which was established by his grandparents Shashi Kapoor and Jennifer Kapoor in memory of his great-grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor.
Jahaan’s father Kunal Kapoor is a producer of TV commercials and is also an actor. He has done films like ‘Siddharth’, ‘Junoon’, ‘Ahista Ahista’, ‘Singh is Bling’ and the latest ‘Panipat’. His mother Sheena Sippy is a portrait and food photographer, designer and creative consultant. Jahan lives in Mumbai and has been doing theater for a long time. Looking at his Instagram handle, his love for theater is more than evident.
