Akhtar criticized Pakistan’s behavior after the Kargil war and questioned his claims on Kashmir. Javed Akhtar said, ‘How can we talk to Pakistan when they did not even accept the bodies of their soldiers in the Kargil war? Even today, 99% of Kashmiri is loyal to India. He also reacted to an incident in Mussoorie recently, where Kashmiri Shawl vendors were attacked by locals, causing 16 vendors to run away from the hill station. Javed Akhtar warned, “Those who harass Kashmiris in Mussoorie or any other part of India are only recognizing and confirming the propaganda of Pakistan.” Calling to take concrete steps, Akhtar said, ‘I hope that the government will take some strict and definite action. The Pakistani establishment should be clearly stated that it will not be tolerated. His army chief is crazy, he has no understanding. And we should not forget the Pahalgam attack.
