Due to this the show is also stuck in legal trouble.
The Great Indian Kapil Show again in controversy
In the recently aired episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 2, Krishna was seen spoiling the lyrics of the song ‘Ekla Chalo Re’ written by Rabindranath Tagore. That too in front of Kajol herself coming from Bengali culture. He appears in front of Kajol in Rabindranath Tagore’s getup and chokes on the song ‘Ekla Chalo Re’ by the respected Bengali poet and writer Rabindranath Tagore, at which Kajol also starts laughing.
Krishna Abhishek’s joke
Krishna Abhishek comes in the getup of Rabindranath Tagore and says that when he walks alone at night, he is sometimes chased by dogs, on this he feels that he should take at least 5-6 people with him. On this very matter, he parodies Rabindranath Tagore’s song and says – ‘Pachala Chalo Re’. Now there is an uproar over this joke of Krishna Abhishek. Earlier, the makers of a show from the Bengali community were angry over this and now Bengali speaking writer Srijato Bandopadhyay has expressed his displeasure on Krishna.
There is a thin line between comedy and joke – Srijato Bandopadhyay
Bengali writer Srijato Bandopadhyay expressed his displeasure at Krishna in his social media post and wrote – ‘There is a thin line between comedy and joke, crossing which can sometimes be dangerous. Many times people do not pay attention to whom and what they are talking about. In his quest for ratings and trying to make people laugh, he forgets where to draw the line.
What did Srijato Bandopadhyay say next?
‘Because of the act that Krishna did with the song Ekla Chalo, in my eyes he has gone far below the level of respect and humility. I am sure that he would not have the courage to make such crude jokes on Premchandra, Kabir or Ghalib, because if he did so, he would be forced to close the show the next day. Bengali people have become accustomed to such jokes, that is why they are telling such jokes. That too in front of a Bengali actress Kajol, who just sat and laughed during the entire act. Let us tell you, after the telecast of this episode, a notice was also sent by the Bongo Bhashi Mahasabha Foundation to the makers of The Great Indian Kapil Show, in which they were accused of insulting Rabindranath Tagore and the Bengali community.
