Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has been the most successful film of this year. Made on a budget of 600 crores, this pan India film was successful in earning well in the first week itself and now it has achieved another milestone. Completing a successful run of 25 days at the world box office, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has touched the figure of 1000 crores. With this, Prabhas has become the second actor after Shahrukh Khan whose two films have joined the 1000 crore club while Deepika has become the first actress to include three films in this elite club.

The film’s earnings momentum continues

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ was released on 27 June 2024 in five languages, with the Tamil version being the most successful film. Nag Ashwin’s prestigious project has earned 616.85 crores in India in 25 days. With this, its total collection has reached Rs 1002.8 crore on the fourth Sunday of its release. After several releases like ‘Sarfira’, ‘Indian 2’, ‘Kill’ and ‘Bad News’, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’s earnings slowed down a bit, but there was no stopping it. The pan India film is still making money at the box office.

These films earned 1000 crores

Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ was the first film to enter the 1000 crore club. The film which released in 2016 had a total collection of 2051 crores. Prabhas’ ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ (2017) was the second film to reach this milestone with a total lifetime collection of 1814 crores. It was again SS Rajamouli who made another film to achieve the same milestone. His 2022 film ‘RRR’ earned 1288 crores at the world box office. Yash’s ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ had a lifetime collection of 1208 crores. Then Shah Rukh Khan came back with a massive comeback and two back-to-back superhits and created records with Pathan and Jawaan.
