New Delhi. The Supreme Court has sought a reply from the Siddaramaiah government of the state in the case of actor Kamal Haasan’s film ‘Thug Life’ from releasing in Karnataka. During the hearing of the case, the Supreme Court said that the release of a film cannot be banned after getting the CBFC certificate. The Supreme Court also objected to the Karnataka High Court advising Kamal Haasan to apologize to the people of Karnataka. The bench of Justice Ujjal Bhuiyan and Justice Manmohan has given time to the Karnataka government till tomorrow and has fixed the next hearing date on Thursday, June 19, a day later.
The Supreme Court bench has clearly stated that the film should be released. Once a film has received a CBFC certificate, no film cannot be stopped from being released. If someone has any problem with Kamal Haasan’s statement, he can issue his statement or debate the release issue, but the state government cannot withdraw from the responsibility of ensuring the release of the film by making an excuse for protest. Actually, Kamal Haasan had said during the promotion of this film that Kannada language has been born from Tamil language. Kannada -speaking is angry with Kamal Haasan about this.
The Karnataka film Chamber of Commerce has announced that his film will not be allowed to be released in Karnataka until Kamal Haasan apologizes for his statement. After this, Kamal Haasan filed a petition in the High Court for the release of the film. But the High Court judge Justice M Nagprasanna suggested Kamal Haasan to apologize. However, Kamal Haasan refused to apologize.
