New Delhi. Director Lokesh Kanakaraj’s action entertainer ‘Vikram’, starring Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil, has now broken all existing box-office records in Tamil Nadu, earning Rs 155 crore in just 17 days. Veteran entertainment industry tracker Sridhar Pillai tweeted on Monday, “It can be confirmed that ‘Vikram’ has broken all existing box-office records in Tamil Nadu as it raked in Rs 155 crore in 17 days and ‘Baahubali’. 2′ (Rs 152 crore) has crossed the five-year-old record.”

Vikram broke all records
Last week, the film’s unit organized a huge success meet, in which Udayanidhi Stalin, whose Red Giant Movies has the distribution rights of the film for Tamil Nadu, revealed, “We knew the film would be a hit, But we didn’t know that it would become such a big hit. We have entered the third week and the only share is Rs 75 crore.” Sanjay Wadhwa, managing director of AP International, who is the international distribution partner of the film, had also said, “I would be happy to inform you that ‘Vikram The overseas collection of ‘ will reach Rs 100 crore by Monday.”
Collection may increase on weekends
The total box office collection of the film was expected to cross Rs 350 crore during the weekend. The film has already crossed the Rs 152 crore mark in Tamil Nadu, now the total collection is expected to go up to Rs 375 crore.
