The film producer had received death threats: Manoj Desai told in a recent interview that during the shooting of Khudagawah in Afghanistan, he was threatened with death by Sridevi’s mother. Manoj said, “Sridevi’s mother told me ‘Manoj bhai if anything happens to Shri, don’t come back from Kabul. I will get your blood done here.”
Sridevi had become a symbol of peace in Afghanistan: When Sridevi was shooting for this, during that time she became a symbol of peace in Afghanistan. Not only this, at that time the terrorists there were so crazy about Sridevi that they used to stop firing on hearing her name.
Shooting took place in Afghanistan for 18 days: The shooting of this film, released in 1992, lasted for 18 days in Afghanistan. Most of the film was shot in Kabul and Mazar-e-Sharif. At that time the President of Afghanistan, Mohammad Najibullah, had provided strong security for the shooting of the film. Amitabh Bachchan was also in the lead role in this film.
