Columbia University of America released the Environmental Performance Index – 2022, in which India got the first place. It got this place from the bottom in the list of 180 countries. Which was rejected by the Union Environment Ministry expressing displeasure. Bollywood actor Kamal R. Khan has enjoyed it on Twitter.

In another tweet, KRK wrote, “Hahaha, had the government been in the first place, even the government would have accepted and Godi media would have wowed in the news 24*7.” Users have pulled up on KRK’s tweet.
A user named Rajiv Kapoor wrote, “You call Akshay Kumar a Canadian and yourself a true Bharti, but whenever something bad happens to India, how do you become so happy?” A Twitter handle named Study 24 commented, “These environmental issues are useless for India and the people of India. Only one thing is serious here and that is Hindu-Muslim.

Let us tell you that the Union Environment Ministry has rejected the Environment Performance Index – 2022, saying that the indicators have been used in the index through estimates and unscientific methods. The ministry said that indicators based on unscientific methods have been used to assess environmental performance.
The ranking, released by the Yale Environmental Law and Policy Center and Columbia University’s Center for International Earth Science Information Network, used 40 performance indicators across 11 categories to examine countries in terms of climate change performance, environmental health and importance to ecology.
