Javed Akhtar is a veteran writer of Bollywood who created a storm with his pen even in the 70s. From the 70s till today, the sharpness of Javed Akhtar’s pen has not diminished. Javed Akhtar has now written songs for more than 150 films and has also written stories for more than a dozen films. Javed Akhtar is counted among the greatest writers of Bollywood today. Javed Akhtar, who has won more than 15 Filmfare Awards, has been nominated more than 30 times. Even though today Javed Akhtar looks like a ripe fragrant fruit, his life was not always like this.
Sometimes Javed Akhtar also used to drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes heavily. Not only this, Javed Akhtar has also lost 10 precious years of his life due to drinking alcohol. Javed Akhtar has spoken openly about divorce from his first wife and old mistakes. In an interview given to a channel named Chill Shesh, Javed Akhtar said, ‘I wasted 10 years due to alcohol addiction. I drank alcohol for the last time on July 31, 1991. But now I find those 10 years very bad. I could have saved those 10 years of precious time and invested it somewhere else. I also suggest young people to never get involved in alcohol because it does not benefit anyone.
I am sad that my first marriage did not work out.
Javed Akhtar said, ‘I am sad that my first marriage broke. The marriage could have been saved from breaking up. But due to my careless attitude it could not be saved. When you drink alcohol, many wrong decisions are made. Things can be ignored that are actually not as important as they seem at that moment. You start fighting even about things which can be avoided.
