In the early sixties, the evergreen actor of Hindustani cinema Dev Anand, under the banner of his production house “Navketan Film”, was engaged in the production of his film “Hum both”. Dev Anand was a musician with his mind. He used to take special interest in the process of song and music of each of his films. Sahir had earlier worked in Dev Anand’s films earlier. Sahir Ludhayanvi got a big break in the Hindustani film industry, Dev Anand’s film “Baazi” (1951). Working together, there was an intimate relationship between Dev Anand and Sahir Ludhianvi. Both were progressing in their respective territories.

Right now the process of composition of song -music was going on that one day Dev Anand reached to meet Sahir Ludhayanvi. Dev Anand looked very excited and thrilling. Sahir asked Dev Anand the reason for his enthusiasm. Dev Anand told Sahir that his heart -o -mind has been shocked by Pakistan’s famous poet Hafeez Jalandhari’s eyes “Right now I am young”. The more he listens to this Najm, the more he gets lost. There is a different taste in this najm.

Dev Anand told Sahir to write a song for the film “Hum both” on the same lines, meter. Sahir and Dev Anand were very good friends. So Sahir agreed to Dev Anand and started fulfilling his wish. There is one thing to note here that Hafiz Jalandhari was born in India in 1900 and went to Pakistan during partition. Apart from this, Hafiz Jalandhari is the person who has written the national anthem of Pakistan.

Sahir Ludhayanvi’s hard work paid off. Sahir wrote the song for the film “Hum both” by placing the meter of Hafiz Jalandhari’s Nazm “Abhi To Main Jawan Hoon”. The musician Jaydev threaded the song in the tune. The great song was voiced by the great singer Mohammad Rafi and singer Asha Bhosle. The song which was prepared by this effort, dedication and dedication, is beating with freshness in every musical heart even after several decades passed today.
