‘Men wearing women’s clothes…’ Mukesh Khanna called such stars ‘vulgar’, then Kapil Sharma’s ‘grandmother’ reacted

On his YouTube channel, he is often seen interacting with people associated with the industry. Recently, he talked to Kapil Sharma’s onscreen ‘Daadi’ i.e. Ali Asgar. Ali Asgar played the character of ‘Daadi’ in Comedy Nights with Kapil for three years from 2013 to 2016. After this, he also played the character of ‘Nani’ in Kapil’s show from 2016 to 2017. When Mukesh Khanna termed the female characters played by him as vulgar, Ali Asgar reacted to this.

Mukesh Khanna asked his guest Ali Asgar if he doesn’t find playing such roles obscene? Ali has answered this question. He expressed his views very easily while supporting such roles.

In fact, on his official X account, Khanna wrote, ‘I don’t like men dancing or doing drama wearing women’s clothes. But there is a show whose name I will not take… this is done in the name of comedy in it.’ Sharing the video of his conversation with Ali, Khanna also told how he defended playing the role of a woman in Kapil’s show.

Responding to Mukesh Khanna’s question, Ali said, ‘This is your personal opinion. So I can’t say anything. People always ask why they make a boy a girl? I think the reason is that no one’s grandmother will be like me. She will not be that energetic. He further said that apart from this, the shooting timings were also very strange. We used to shoot till late at night. Now if you make a senior actress a grandmother, it would be difficult for her to work for so long.’

Hearing Ali’s answer, Mukesh again interrupted Ali and said, ‘This is not the right reason. Don’t heroines work all night?’ To this, Ali said, ‘My second reason is that when we make a man a woman, then it is no longer the original character. We could then take a lot of creative liberty and have a lot of fun. Now since the character is not original, I don’t feel bad about anything.’ He also praised Kapil Sharma’s show in the conversation.
