Bollywood actor Govinda was the name in the 90s with whom every director-producer was eager to make a film. Then Govinda was at the peak of his career and he gave not one or two but many superhit comedy-drama films. The list of Govinda’s most successful films includes names like ‘Dulhe Raja’, ‘Coolie No. 1’, ‘Hero No. 1’, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ and ‘Haseena Maan Jaayegi’. In his three-decade career, Govinda did more than 165 films and today when questions are raised about his coming late on the sets, Govinda had said in a podcast that as long as I was having a good time, no one had any complaints.
The minister’s daughter was staying in the house as a maid
When Govinda was a superstar, everyone was desperate to click a picture with him or get his autograph. Be it Govinda’s dancing style or his unique way of delivering monologues, his fan following was in crores. Govinda’s wife Sunita told in an interview that once one of his fans entered their house pretending to be a maid and kept working in their house for several days. Whereas in reality she was the daughter of a minister. Sunita narrated the entire story in Time Out with Ankit.
Sunita got suspicious because of this
Sunita said, “There was a fan who came pretending to be a housemaid and stayed with us for 20-22 days. I thought she was from a very rich and good family. I told my mother-in-law that she doesn’t even know how to wash plates or clean the house. Finally we found out that she is a minister’s daughter and a big fan of Govinda.” Govinda’s wife said that they had just got married so they tried to find out the background of this girl.
Father came to pick me up with four vehicles
Sunita said, “I was young but suspicious then. She used to stay up late and wait for Govinda. I was shocked to see all this. Finally I decided to find out her background. After this she started crying and then she told me that she is a big fan of Govinda. After this her father came and four cars came with him. I think he worked at our house for 20 days. So Govinda used to have this kind of fan following then.”
