Muzaffarnagar. The ‘Special POCSO Court’ of Muzaffarnagar on Thursday accepted the ‘closure report’ of the police giving ‘clean chit’ to all the five accused including Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the molestation case. Special Public Prosecutor Pradeep Baliyan said that Special POCSO Judge Ritesh Sachdeva accepted the closure report after Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife Aaliya did not appear in the court to answer despite being given several chances.
Alia had filed a case of molestation against actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and four members of his family. It was alleged that actor Siddiqui’s brother Minhajuddin had allegedly molested a minor member of the family in 2012 while other accused supported him.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui bluntly said on apartheid, ‘In our country, those who are considered good looking…’
According to the prosecution, an FIR was registered in Mumbai based on the complaint lodged by Alia and was later transferred to Budhana police station in the district in 2020. After investigation, the police filed a closure report in the court in the case. The court had issued a notice to Alia asking her to appear in the court to reply to the clean chit given by the police to Siddiqui and others in the molestation case, but she did not appear.
