People often say that Mumbai is safe for women, but I would like to correct that perception. Today, I have my car and driver. So if someone asks me if Mumbai is safe, then I will say yes. But not everyone is safe. ‘ He then recalled a dreadful incident of college days. The actress said, ‘I remember once me and my two friends were coming back by local train and I think it was 9.30 in the night and we were in the first class. Therefore, the compartment was quite empty. Actually there was no one other than the three of us. We were sitting near the window grill and a man, as soon as he saw the three girls sitting, he came very close to the grill, pasted his face on the grill and he said, what will you give a kiss? ‘
Women not safe in public places
He further said, ‘All three of us were surprised. At that age, you do not even know how to respond in such circumstances? What if he does something inside the train? ‘ Malavika said that this was just an incident and every woman traveling in public places would have such countless stories of harassment and molestation.
