New Delhi. The most prestigious National Film Awards of the cinema world were announced today by the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. In the 70th National Film Awards, the Malayalam film Attam has won the Best Feature Film Award while Kannada actor Rishab Shetty has been chosen as the Best Actor. Rishab has received this award for his acting in his film Kantara, released in the year 2022. Kantara has also received the title of Best Popular Film. Tamil actress Nithya Menon was chosen as the Best Actress for ‘Thiruchitrambalam’ and Manasi Parekh for the Gujarati film ‘Kutch Express’. At the same time, Manoj Bajpayee and Sharmila Tagore’s film ‘Gulmohar’ has received the Best Hindi Film Award.

Sooraj Barjatya has been chosen as the best director for the film ‘Uunchai’. Actress Neena Gupta has received the Best Supporting Actress award for the film ‘Uunchai’. Pawan Malhotra has been awarded the Best Supporting Actor title for his performance in the Haryanvi film Fauja. Pritam has won the Best Music Director award for ‘Brahmastra’. In the singer category, Arijit Singh has been chosen as the Best Male Singer for the film Brahmastra and Bombay Jayashree has been chosen as the Best Female Singer for the Malayalam film ‘Saudi Velakka’. AR Rahman has also been chosen as the Best Music Director for Ponniyin Selvan Part 1.

In the short films category, Vishal Bhardwaj has been selected as the best music director for Fursat. Ponniyin Selvan 1, directed by Mani Ratnam, has won the Best Tamil Film Award while KGF 2 has been awarded the Best Kannada Film Award. KGF Chapter 2 has also won the Best Stunt Choreography Award. Kutch Express has been selected as the Best Feature Film in the category of promoting national, social and environmental values. At the same time, the Haryanvi film Fauja has received the award in the category of Best Lyrics.
